Bawi is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) who received a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy from Indiana University.

Bawi completed her internship at F.L.O.W., but she has also worked in various settings, including early intervention, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and
outpatient therapy clinics. She is bilingual and speaks Hakha Chin and is attending IU Indianapolis to obtain a Master's in Public Health.
